When Mathieu contacted us to propose his feature film project, we were immediately drawn to his unique background as a screenwriter, director, composer, and musician. After watching his uncompromising medium-length film "Övo," with its strong aesthetic, we discovered a shared taste for a certain type of radical cinema, with Tobe Hooper's "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" as its standard-bearer. We decided to develop both "Food," his feature film, and a new short film. This became "Diversion," developed during the "SoFilm de genre" residency, where it won an award, benefiting from a pre-purchase by Canal+, CNC's Aid before production, and support from the Grand-Est Region. The film then premiered at Locarno and was selected for Clermont-Ferrand. Among other awards, it received the Grand Prize at the Gérardmer festival.
