SYNOPSIS
Left on an answering machine, the message of a panting breathing pierces the silence of a gray lounge. The room is not empty, a woman in a bathrobe wanders there, sad face. A young man enters the apartment. He bestirs oneself under the eyes of the woman, but does not seem to see her.

Carried by the incredible Catherine Lachens, “Absence” is Kevin Lecomte’s first film.

Winner of the “Envie D’Agir” program, “Absence” is, like “The Breathing Birth”, one of the winners of the contest “Le retour des courts” and was screened in the MK2 theaters from March 2012 to March 2013.

The film was awarded a Silver Mélies at Science+Fiction (Trieste) as well as the Audience Award at the Etrange Festival (Strasbourg) and the 13th Rue à Court Métrange Award (Rennes).

Non-exhaustive festival selections: Fantastic’Art, Utopiales, Festival Opalciné, Courts dans l’herbe, Le Festival du court métrage de Vélizy-Villacoublay, L’Amberg horror fest, Fantasia, Chicago Short Film Festival, Sapporo Short Fest, PIFAN…
